Logo Memorial Day issues for schools

Why should the Memorial Day issues be in schools?

"those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it."

All you have to do is read the paper or catch the news on TV or radio to see the conflicts sparking up around the world. It's not hard to see that War remains a real threat. And remember that people in military service are most exposed to this constant danger

for people to learn about war, they need to understand what war does to people

Take a fresh look at war and military service -- not in terms of strategy, cost, or "national interest" -- but through the eyes of the people who have been there, both military and civilian! The stories and poetry in these issues capture real world experiences far more vividly than mere factual reports will ever do.

"Anti-war but pro-soldier" - a reader

Take the first step now!

If you are a teacher or work in a school, have your school order copies of the Memorial Day issues for your school library. Ordering information

If you are a concerned citizen, help put copies of the Echoes Memorial Day issues in high schools. Help students see what the word war really means -- readers will discover an up close and personal view of war and military service that they just won't find anywhere else. The time is Now.

We would be happy to supply copies at no charge, but we simply do not have the resources to print them and mail them to the schools. But we will print and mail these issues at cost* if you or your company or group sponsor the project for 10 or more schools.

Each school will receive all three Memorial Day editions -- over 150 pages of thought-provoking original stories, poetry, and drawings, most of them written by veterans. (1995, 1996 & 1997). Echoes contains no commercial advertising.

(On bulk orders, sponsor receives credit in copies distributed to schools.)
