Submitting ComputerFiles

NOTICE

Echoes had to suspend publication due to lack of funds, so we are no longer accepting submissions.

Please enjoy the library, the tools for writers, and all the other material at this site! (Unfortunately, we will not be able to keep updating this Website unless Echoes is able to resume publication.)

Copies of classic issues are still available. Browse the Library and order your favorites!

If you are sending more than a couple of pages, we are happy to accept a computer file (E-mail or 3-1/2" disk) -- and you may appreciate the savings in postage! If you are not yet a subscriber, you may want to mail in your first submission and order a subscription so you can get the special benefits for subscribers!

Special notes for all computer files

Make sure your name, address, Email address appear at the top of the document. On stories, please also show the word count at the top.
Please read the Writer guidelines before you submit any work

If you're sending adisk,(3-1/2" disks only)

Make sure the disk label shows your name, what word processor youused, and whether the disk is from a PC or a Macintosh. Disks will bereturned if you enclose an appropriate postage-paid mailer; otherwisewe erase them and give them to local schools or other worthyorganizations.

Please send a plain text ("ASCII") file.*
We can also accept files in RTF (Rich Text Format), but be sure to include a plain text ("ASCII") file* as a backup.
Please do not send files in any other formats !

If you're sending your work viae-mail,

Make sure your manuscript ends with "The End" or "###" or some other clear indication. Otherwise, we won't know if the Email gets truncated.

Be sure to save your file as a plain text file.* Do not send any other type of file unless you clear it with us in advance.

* Your word processor may call this "Text only", "Plain text", or "ASCII- generic". (This is an ASCII file without the "return" that PC's insert at the end of each line.)

Be sure to include in your cover message your full name and mail address and, what word processor you used, and whether the file is from a PC or a Macintosh. If you're sending your submission as an attached file, include the exact name of the file in your message.
~~If you are on America Online, just send the file via e-mail to~~ ~~echoesmag~~.
If you are sending a submission via the Internet, send to Peter@EchoesMagazine.com. NOTE: Problems do sometimes occur with files sent with Internet messages, so if length permits, just paste the text at the end of your cover message.
